It has been over a month since I have updated our blog. A whole lot of everything and nothing has been going on. We have our day to day things that have kept us busy and few little extras.
I am no longer working at Austin's on a regular basis. I pick up a shift now and then for the social aspect of it. The extra money doesn't hurt either. Aaron is busy with work. He has taken this new position on and has gone above and beyond their expectations. He continually leads his team to the top on a monthly basis. Taking first in the company repeatedly. He feels he is learning a ton and is working hard to get to the next level. I love his ambition!
Gracyn just had her third birthday. It is so hard to believe she is growing so fast. She truly is an amazing little girl. She embraces learning and I can not explain what a joy it is to teach her. We have just started to learn how to write. She has started to trace her alphabet and shapes. She knows her numbers and we are learning how to read those as well. Once we get those down we will start learning how to write them. She has lots of fun doing her lessons. She celebrated her birthday with a Diamond Castle Princess party. She asked for several months for the princess' and has not put them down since she opened them. She plans to be one for Halloween. I will post pictures!
Landyn is nine months today! He is crawling all over the place. He pulls himself up on anything and everything and will cruise around if there is something to hold on to. He has just started to dance. Every time music comes on he starts to bounce around. He claps his hands and has just recently started to shake his head "no-no." He laughs all the time and constantly has a smile on his face. He babbles a lot and every now and then will say mama. He weighs about 26 lbs and is about 32 inches long. Not much difference between him and his sister.
We are heading to California in about 2 weeks and we are super excited! Gracyn talks all the time about flying on the airplane. We cant wait to see everyone!! So this is the scoop on our crazy life, it is hectic but we are loving it!

Gracyn is turning 3 years old. What an adventure the last three years have been. She is an amazing little girl. She teaches me something new every time I turn around. Even the simplest things we take for granted are fascinating to her. She has an enormous vocabulary which grows everyday. She loves being a big sister and adores her little brother. Or rather she loves torturing him. :-) She has learned how to be a little more gentle and every now and then she shares her toys. She is really into Dora and has learned quite a bit a of Spanish. She is starting to play with Barbie dolls and has quite the imagination. She loves to play pretend and has great stories about her adventures. She loves to sing and we love to listen. She is really something special!

Landyn is 8 months old. I can not believe how fast time really does go. He started to crawl about three weeks ago. He is constantly on the go and is in to everything all the time! He has started to pull himself up on whatever he can grab onto and for the first time yesterday he cruised some of the furniture. It wont belong until he is walking. This morning he crawled up the first five steps of our stairs and stopped on the middle landing when he realized I was panicing. He has 6 teeth now. Two on the bottom and four on top. He grinds them together all the time which drives us crazy! He babbles all the time and occasionally throws out mama and dada when he feels like it. He has an amazing personality and is such a good natured little boy!

I can not believe that in less than 3 months our little girl is going to be three! She is such an amazing little girl. Her vocabulary is growing by the day and the things that she says just amazes me. She still loves her books which we think has had a hand in creating her gigantic imagination. She loves to play pretend and can convince you that she was there and it really happen. She hasnt grown a lot physically. She stands about 36 inches tall and weighs about 28lbs. She has finally got all of her two year molars, so hopefully she will get a break from the teething process for a while! She is really into Dora right now and is learning spanish at an amazing speed. She loves her little "Chunky man" as she calls Landyn and looks forward to seeing him the moment she wakes up!

6 months old!

Landyn turn 6 months old yesterday! He is such a good little boy (a little cranky when he's hungry) but such a good baby! I call him my little cuddle bug because he loves to snuggle! He is sitting up on his own and has started to give some thought to crawling . Not much though! I weighed him yesterday and he is a little over 22lbs and about 28 inches. His two bottom teeth are starting to show but have not broke through the surface yet. Should be any day now. He loves being in his bouncer and playing with Gracyn.

For the 4th we went down to the river. They had a big fireworks show and lots of activities. Gracyn didnt really care for the fireworks this year and Landyn thought they were pretty neat! Gracyn held on to Aaron with her back to them the whole time and Landyn sat in my lap and watched everyone! In all it was a pretty good time as you can tell by the how tired my guys are!

Landyn had his 4 month check up yesterday. 4 mons already, I cant believe how fast it has gone! At the doctor he weighed 19 lbs 8 oz and is 27 inches long! His head circumference is 17 1/4. In his height and weight he hit the 98th percentile and the 90th for his head! He is only 7lbs and 7 inches smaller than Gracyn! I keep thinking he is going to slow down but so far it hasnt happen! The dr. says he is doing great and is very healthy! He is starting to roll to his side and has started sit by himself for 30 seconds or so. Then he falls over like a ton of bricks! He is getting his 4 bottom teeth and the outside two cut the surface sunday (6/1.) He babbles and coos all the time and carries on full conversations with his toys! He has started to laugh a lot and melts my heart with his enormous grin!

So how does it happen that both kids are getting teeth at the same time?

Gracyn is finally starting to get her two year molars which have to be the most painful ones yet!! Those teeth are so big for such a little girl! She seems a little cranky and once again is chewing on her fingers to relieve the pressure! Poor little girl!

Landyn is starting to get his first tooth. Or I should say teeth. The tooth bottom ones have started to push up to his gums and you can see two little bumps on the bottom. He is constantly chewing on his hands and SLOBBERING!! Tons of drool!

I wish I could take away the discomfort for both of them!!

When I look at these pictures I just sit back and thank God for letting me be thier mother! These two teach me something new everyday and I couldn't be more proud!

Everyone is doing great. Gracyn is learning how to be "gentle" with Landyn and Landyn is learning to put up with the occasional poking and tugging Gracyn gives him. At the rate he is growing we will be teaching him how to be "gentle" to her! It is quite fun to see these two interact!

Gracyn had her first haircut today! She did so well. The stylist cut over 2 1/2 inches off the back and probably less than a 1/2 off the front. :-) She got rid of her baby mullet though and it looks so much better! Everyone keeps saying that her hair will start to grow quicker now. I hope it's true! It's taken her so long to get what she has now!

Gracyn had her first dental appointment yesterday. She met with her dentist and they counted her teeth. She laid on the table and did everything the dentist asked her to do without any hesitation. She did extremely well for her first visit. She goes back in 6 months to get her teeth cleaned and have x-rays. Hopefully she will do just as well then.

Landyn laughed for the first time this weekend! It is so much fun to watch him and Gracyn interact. She can always make him smile and can calm him down when he gets upset. I cant believe he is already three months old! I always said that Gracyn grew so fast but Landyn seems to be growing so much faster!

Well it has been quite a while since I have updated everyone on things that are going on here in our crazy house. Gracyn is becoming quite the intelligent little girl. She has such a HUGE vocabulary these days and loves to use big words whenever she can. She uses them correctly too which never seems to amaze me. Once she hears a new word she likes, she quickly tries to use it. Landyn is growing insanely quick! He will be three months old on the thirtyith. He had his two month appointment on the 10th of April. He weighed in at 15 lbs 7oz and is 24 3/4 inches long. He had to have his first set of shots. I had forgotten how hard it is on both of us. He did pretty well through them and slept most of the day after we got home. He coos all the time and it is amazing to hear him and Gracyn carry on a conversation. He does love his big sister and she loves him! Gracyn is getting ready to go to her very first dentist appointment on the 28th and so far she is quite excited. She has three new molars coming in so she is anxious to show the dentist. We are so excited that warm weather is coming. Gracyn keeps asking if we can take her fishing. It is going to be so much fun to watch her fish for the first time!

Landyn is growing so fast! I took him to the dr. last wed (2wks) and he had put on a full pound! He was 9lbs 2oz. He eats all the time and sleeps the rest. He is a great baby! I thought we got lucky with Gracyn and this one would be our payback but he is awesome! He doesnt cry very often, maybe twice a day and he has a great sleeping pattern.

We are all starting to get into the swing of things now that my mom has left and we are doing it on our own. Mom was doing so much around the house and with Gracyn that I wasnt quite sure how I would handle it all. But after my first day on my own I think I will be okay! It is obvious that it does take time though! I figure if everyone is fed and has on clean clothes at the end of the day I did perfect! hahaha! But I am ready for my mom to come back!

Gracyn is adjusting well!! She is smitten with her baby brother and wants to love him all the time. However, that means we spend a lot of time telling her not to hug so hard and she can wait a little while before she gives more kisses! We really cant complain though she still has a great attitude and isnt acting out.

The details:
Landyn William Rubesh was born 1/30/08 a day earlier then planned. I was scheduled to have a c-section at noon on the 31st. I woke up on the 30th with contractions 32 minutes apart for about 2 1/2 hours they then went to 45 mins so I started to relax. At 1pm my contractions went to 20 minutes apart and grew really intense. It went down hill from there. They got to 6-8 minutes apart and Aaron and went to the hospital. That was 4:30. My dr, let me labor until 7:30 when they finally took me in for my section. My contractions at 7:30 were less than 2 minutes apart. So at 7:42pm Landyn was born.

For all those who have sent emails with congrats and well wishes we appreciate them all! These days there is not much time to spend on the computer writing everyone back so here is the updates:
Landyn is doing great! He is a great eater and a wonderful sleeper. He doesnt fuss much and loves to be held. I am getting a little sleep and luckly my mom is staying with us for a few weeks which allows me to take a few naps during the day.
Gracyn loves her little brother! She is adjusting well and constantly wants to shower him with hugs and kisses. She is getting used to sharing the attention with Landyn and loves to tell people she has a new baby brother!
We are all doing great. I am slowly recovering and everyone is adjusting well. We are truly enjoying this time and are loving every minute of the new adventure.

Our thanksgiving was small and pretty uneventful. We spent most of the day baking a turkey, watching television, playing with Gracyn and mostly relaxing. We celebrated Aaron's birthday in the morning with presents and ate turkey in the afternoon until we couldn't hardly move! It was quite cold so there wasn't any playing outside or even opening the windows for fresh air. The snow from Wed. still hasn't melted so that should give you some idea. The winter has literally come overnight so this year there will be no adjusting period. It went from 75 on Tues. to 32 on Wed. Thanksgiving day it didn't quite make it into the the 30's. BRRRRR!!!

News on Baby:

I think the countdown is starting! We have officially started on our two week visits. We had our 28 week appointment on the 21st and our next visit is on the 5th of Dec. The baby is growing great and measuring perfect. Lucky for me (not really) I have continually gained a good amount of weight. Giving the baby plenty of nutrients (or sweets whatever the craving.) The kicks are getting stronger and they are still consistent. I know for a fact that it loves when I eat and thinks bedtime is the perfect time for acrobats! We are going for a tour of the hospital on the 9th of Dec. So I am looking forward to seeing how things are done here and what to expect on the big day! Which is coming oh so quickly!!

Garth Brooke's Concert!!

Last night Aaron and I were given free concert tickets to Garth Brooke's! Even though I was not as excited as Aaron to go, we did have a blast! Garth Brooke's puts on an awesome show! Trisha Yearwood on the other hand was his opening act and she wasn't all that exciting. I think it just made the anticipation of Garth coming out even that much greater! He had an awesome entrance and it just got better from there! It was a great night out for the two of us and we really enjoyed it!

Gracyn had her 2 year physical yesterday! She measured 33 3/4 inches tall and 24 lbs. She is still a petite little girl! Everything else was good. They said she is right on track if not ahead! Like I said before we created a genius! hahaha :-) She had two shots which one was a flu shot. It's so much harder as they get older and remember how it feels! I do like her new pediatrician, I think we will be using her for the baby also. She happens to be from Omaha too so it was nice to be able to relate to her and know the places specifically that she worked at before coming to Kansas. So I am extremely excited that she only goes once a year from now on.

So last night was a night like any other. We didn't have any trick or treater's so it was pretty normal. Gracy went to bed a few minutes late because Aaron didn't get home from St. Louis until close to her bed time so she spent a few extra minutes with him. Then we put on her jammie's, brushed her teeth, read a book, said her prayers, and it was off to bed.
Aaron and I went back to the living room to watch television and Gracy (as she has been doing for the last ten days or so) laid in her bed and played with her animals. So at 10 o'clock when we decided to go to bed I did like I do any other night. I turned off the television, the lights, got a glass of water and went in to check on Gracy. To my surprise she was actually asleep before ten tonight. So I covered her up fixed her blankets and went to bed.
2:09 am: My pregnancy bladder kicks in as it always does about this time of night. So as usual I get up, use the restroom and on my way back I always stop by our door to glance at Gracy to see if she needs to be covered up or just how she is sleeping. But tonight was different. As I got closer to the door I realized I didn't quite open her door enough when I went to bed because I couldn't see her. So I started to walk into the living room and as I got closer to her room I realized she was not in her bed. Panic! I thought maybe she had fallen on the floor and just gone back to sleep because her blanket was on the floor along with a few of her animals. But as I got completely in her room (and fully awake) I realize she wasn't there. Not in her bed, not on the floor, not in the glider chair. NOWHERE! FULL BLOWN PANIC! I race through the house, check the dogs room, the bath room, everywhere! I head back into my room, maybe she has crawled into bed with Aaron and I just didn't hear her. Not there!
"Aaron I can't find Gracy!" no response! Is he nuts get up and panic with me our daughter is missing and we don't live in a mansion why can I not find her?!?! "AARON I CANT FIND GRACYN, SHE'S NOT IN HER BED!!!" Maybe the louder I say it the more he will realize I'm not just dreaming here I really cant find her! "Are you serious?!" Is the groggy response I get! "YES!!! I have looked everywhere I cant find her!" I'm almost in tears here, but the panic was so great that I don't think my tear ducts were functioning.
Finally he gets out of bed and runs into her room. There aren't many places she can be and only one that she can be out of site. So we look behind the bed and nothing. I start to yell for her! "Gracyn....Gracyn....GRACYN!!!" All of a sudden Aaron says "She's here!" "Where?" Knowing I've looked everywhere!
"Under the bed!" He says with much confusion. She starts to scoot out from under the bed and Aaron picks her up and tucks her back in. "Mommy I want a drink of water." My tear ducts started to work! I wanted to tell her she could have the world if she would just not scare me like that again! After her drink she fell right back to sleep like nothing had happen.
As we laid back in bed I started to calm down and realized I was sick to my stomach. Aaron says "I knew she was here, I cant breathe wrong without waking you up so I knew she was here somewhere!" As true as that may be who would have really thought she would fit under her bed and well enough to fall asleep! Needless to say it wasn't that easy for Aaron and I to go back to sleep.
This morning as I sit here and think about it, it really just makes me say "What in the world?!" Except now I can laugh too!

Gracyn had an extra special birthday!! She had a blast! It was great to get to spend it with the family, even though not everyone could make it. :-( She had so many presents to open and loved every gift given. She enjoyed the animals on her cake and licking the frosting but passed when it actually came to eating a piece. (Surprisingly she's not huge on sweets. Don't know where that comes from!) She loved all the attention (definitely my daughter) and was sad when it was all over. We just can't believe that our little baby is already two!!

We saw the OB today and had another ultrasound so that they could check the lower spine and feet. Since the baby was a little stubborn last time and didn't want to wiggle around so she could get a good look. :-) Everything looks good she says. The spine and as you can see the legs and feet. (perfectly crossed in pic above) They measured my uterine height and I measured 23 1/2 cm which is a week behind and the baby still measured two weeks ahead. Which translates to: Big baby little room!! It also explains why the kicks are so powerful and so often. Everything else was normal. I had to ask for some exercises for my sciatic nerves because they have really been bothering me lately. So now that I have those I do them a couple times a day in hopes it will relieve some of the pressure. We will see! Other than that I feel great! Next time I go I have my Glucose testing for gestational diabetes (standard test) and after that appointment I start going every two weeks. It really is going by SOOO fast! Feb. will be here before we know it!

Sunny California!! The weather was beautiful! Gracyn loved flying on the Airplane when she knew she was going to see Grandma but not so excited to get back on the airplane to come home. She did great though and we had a great time! Wish it was a faster flight that way we could go all the time!

This weekend was a big milestone for Gracyn. Not only did we take the front part of her crib off to make it into a big girl bed. But it also marked two full weeks of being potty trained! I don't know who this is better for, me or her?

She has done extraordinary well in her big girl bed. The first nap we had to lay her down about 6 times but that night when it came to bed time she layed in her bed without getting up at all. It has been that way since! It is amazing how well this transition has gone!

As for potty training! I am so excited to have a 3 month break from changing diapers. I think she just woke up one morning and decided that she was done with pull ups and was ready for big girl panties. HOORAY!! What ever it was I am extactic!

Only two more days until we are on our way to California! I try not to get really excited the week before because then the week just drags on but I am so excited this time I can hardly wait! I think I am going to start packing today!

Turning Two

I cant believe she is turning two! Where has all the time gone? We have officially started the count down until her second birthday which is less than three weeks away! We are so excited to be celebrating her birthday in California. It is going to be a blast! She knows there will be cake and presents and she is really looking forward to it!
We have exactly a week until we are in California and we have started to become really anxious! Gracyn is looking forward to riding on the airplane and I think this time will be the easiest of all because she will be able to color or watch a movie and keep herself occupied. We cant wait to see everyone!!

For several years now we have kept a web page on babies online so that everyone can see what was new with Gracyn. Now that we are having another baby I want to keep everyone updated with what is new with both of our little miracles. So I have decided to combine the websites and here we are! Until the baby is born I will continue to document my updates on it's site so that I will have it for the baby book but as for Gracyn's site in the next couple of weeks it will be coming down. This way there will only be one site for me to work on once I have two little ones to take care of. Hopefully you will all understand!
I will keep this one updated as much as I can if not more than I did with the other! Hope you enjoy!
